WAITING ON GOD

THE MESSAGE NOW

Vol. 4, No. 37- Monday 30th September, 2019

WAITING ON GOD

Text: Psalm 25:1-5

Waiting on God is depending unceasingly and entirely upon Him. When we wait on God, our eyes, thoughts and desires are on Him and not on ourselves, any other person or creature. This is because all good things and all perfect gifts come from Him. We do pray and fast to get our needs met by God.
In life, there are many needs to be met: strong enemies against whom our human strength is utterly insufficient; difficult decisions to make; spiritual and material blessings we desire to have; guidance and instructions we desire to receive from God. There are prayers offered for the saints, the church, ourselves and other persons in respect of which we expect answers.

All these demand our patiently waiting on God. “For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise”(Hebrews 10:36).

Whenever we are waiting on God, we must do so with assurance in our heart that God is Almighty, loving and faithful. He does not fail nor disappoint His People: “…not one thing hath failed to all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you and not one thing hath failed thereof “(Joshua 23:14).

As we wait, our heart must keep away from everything that is sinful and evil or having appearance of evil. Also, we must be totally obedient to His commands.
Our waiting on God can never be in vain if we do not cast away our confidence which have great recompense of reward (Hebrews 10:35). There is certainty of blessing for us. He will reveal Himself to save, to guide and fulfil all His promises.

The admonition for every child of God is “wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” (Psalm 27:14).
In our coming conference, look up to God He will do the seemingly impossible in your life.

In The End: Waiting on God means having faith in God and trusting Him to do what He promised which only Him can do.

I AM GOD AND THERE IS NONE ELSE

THE MESSAGE NOW

Vol. 4, No. 36- Monday 23rd September, 2019

I AM GOD, AND THERE IS NONE ELSE.

Isaiah 45:20-22

A vivid knowledge of the scriptures reveals that God makes Himself known to people in different situations. For example, He called Noah to make an ark of gopher wood in order to preserves lives, Gen 6:13-22. Remember that Noah built the ark by paying attention to divine instructions, verse 22.

In Gen 17:1 He appeared to Abram as the Almighty God and instructed him to walk before him and be perfect. The outcome of Abram’s obedience are numerous. God made covenants with him, God changed his name from Abram to Abraham, meaning father of many nations, God made him fruitful- No other god can make a life covenant, rather it is a death covenant.
In Psalms 125:1 “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” Invariably, whoever trusts in God is similar to mount Zion which abideth forever.
God is omniscience knowing the end from the beginning. He guides and He will always fulfill His promises just as He divinely instructed the Israelites in Deuteronomy 2. The summary of this chapter informs that a man’s journey in life is key to his destiny. God commanded them to pass through the coast of the children of Esau at Seit, be careful do not meddle with them, their territory is not your promise land, He warned them not to distress the Moabites. At a point, God delivered Sihon king of Heshbon into their hand, they overwhelmed him and inherited the King’s land. You will only get to promise land when God leads you and not other gods.

The nature of God is full of mercy which in turn informs/gives us salvation. Isaiah 46:22 “Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else.” Salvation comes from God, while  He preserves you because you trust Him according to Psalms 16:1, other gods cannot preserve, they destroy life gradually or suddenly.
Job was a perfect man who would have turned to other gods as a result of the colossal losses he experienced in his life. Job 1:13-20 itemized his loss, in verses 21-22  And said, “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD”.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Job recognized the supremacy of God, he worshipped God. In chapter 42:10-15, God restored Job after he had prayed for his friend – God doubled his possession. Job trusted God and not other gods as NOTHING GOOD CAN EMANATE FROM  OTHER GODS.
Psalms 25:20, reveals that God keeps our souls and will not put you to shame if you trust Him. The God that I know is the Almighty God, what about you?

IN THE END, THOSE THAT TRUST IN THE CREATOR RATHER THAN THE CREATURES WILL DO EXPLOIT.

Hymn: O Lord my God when I, in Awesome Wonder
Pray Now
1) O Lord my God, every evil altar calling my name day and night be destroyed by fire in Jesus Name
2)Father you are my God, no situation will put me to shame in Jesus Name
3)You restored Job completely, Father restore(name them….) in double portions in Jesus Name
4) Father I invite you, be God over my life in Jesus Name.
5) Whatever represents other gods in my life die in Jesus Name.

WHY ARE YE TROUBLED?

EXPRESS IMAGE GLORY MINISTRIES
The Message Now
Vol. 4, No 35- Monday, 16th September,2019.
Why Are Ye Troubled?
Luke 24:38

It is natural for man to get and feel troubled when confronted with trouble. When the trouble is so frightening, some hormones are released in the body adequately to react to the trouble. It’s just a natural physiological process.
Jesus asked this question “why are ye troubled? (LK 24:38) just to assure them that as His followers they need not be troubled.

He was questioning them whether they believed all he said about his death and resurrection. He knew even their thoughts and further asked ‘why do these thoughts arise in your hearts?’
If we truly believe that Christ is risen, we do not need to be troubled. This question was asked after his resurrection and the disciples were still doubting and are troubled . We don’t need to be troubled when trouble comes.

It is note worthy that while they were troubled, Jesus suddenly appeared in the midst (LK 24:36) and commended peace unto them. May the Lord appear to you you are troubled and give you peace.

Each time the disciples were troubled, Jesus was always suddenly appearing to reassure them of peace and calmness.
There was an occasion when they were to cross to “the other side “(MK 4:35 -41). Along the journey, a great storm arose but Jesus was peacefully sleeping on a pillow. The frightened disciples woke him up and he commanded peace; he shall command his peace into your troubled life in Jesus name.

In this case a “ great storm “ was returned to a “great calm “ Mk 4: 37, Mk 4: 39). In the account of John 6-16-21, the storm rose up and they were afraid but as Jesus entered the ship they were instantly on the other side where they were going (like a magic).

When trouble was predicted for Paul in Jerusalem, Paul challenged it head long for he was prepared not only to be bound but to even die for what he believed (Act 21: 11-13). He wasn’t troubled by trouble.
When death was staring at Peter, he was imprisoned so he could be killed after Easter. Peter just peacefully slept off in the inner prison where they kept him (Act 12 :6-8, 10-12).
How sweet to know that the brethren and the church are praying for you when in trouble (Act 12: 5). Peter knew the brethren were praying for him, he knew where they were holding the prayer meeting so he went straight to meet them (Act 12:12).

Initially we at Express Image, in the pastorate, we dedicated every 1st Wednesday to fasting and prayer for the church and the members, the second Wednesday for the workers and pastorate and the 3rd Wednesday for the pastor and his family but now we do it three times a day and every day of the week. The lord has been giving us and the members’ great victory since then. When Paul and Silas were in great trouble and
imprisoned, they were not troubled at all (Act 16 25-34). It was their praise worship that brought the power of God to the situation and the prison doors were widely opened.

Esther didn’t wait for the trouble to come and consume them. She challenged the trouble and did the unlawful, she said “if I perish, I perish” and for this singular action all the Jews were saved from destruction (Esther 3:13, 4 :15, 16, 8: 16-17, 9: 5).

If truly we are Christians, we don’t need to be troubled when trouble comes. Trouble will always come (Rev 12- 12), but Christ assurance is our sufficiency
– Life is loaded with trouble
-Everybody is either in it, or heading towards it, or getting out of it
-Hardship is facts of life
-Our Christian journey is not an easy sail; storms will threaten (MK 4:9).

But when you invite Jesus into your journey, he will calm the storm. In Mark 4:37 that we earlier read, there was a great storm: yours may also seem so greatly overwhelming but Jesus has a greater force to calm it. Compare the enormosity of the storm in (MK4:37) and the great peace in (MK4:39). There was a great storm and at Christ’s intervention their was great peace. It shall be unto you in your life according to the order of MK 4:39. In MK4:40, He asked them again on this occasions why are ye fearful ? if you have full faith in Christ, no trouble should trouble you. Storm will threaten and waves will surge they shall all ‘’come to pass’’ in Jesus name.

Trusting Jesus doesn’t keep us from having difficulties. But it does keep us from being swallowed by them.
When you are in trouble don’t be troubled.
When David faced the great Goliath of Gath, it was a big trouble but David ran forward and released a single stone to kill the enemy and there was peace. God promised to deliver us from all our troubles.(Ps 91:15).

In the end, when you are in trouble don’t be troubled, the risen Christ is with you and He will keep you. He will keep your ship from sinking it doesn’t matter how deep the sea. Faith and hope will keep you floating. Don’t let trouble, trouble you.

CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES PART 4

THE MESSAGE NOW

Vol. 4, No. 35 – Monday, 9th September, 2019
(Jude.1:3)
CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES
(Part 4)

Common sense agrees that passion drives success. What this implies scores very vital points. For one, success may be countenanced as an engineless vehicle. Unless and until it is powered, that vehicle remains static.

In the same connection, what is contained in the Bible is the passion of the Almighty for all humanity. If a long sketch of that which is divine passion only creates a state of boredom to man, then man has missed the divine path a long time ago, and would now need to retrace his steps.
It has been a number of weeks since this magazine has continued with the doctrines of the Bible. Should we have become bored already, then our passions are being tested by God to find out whether our attention and passion are geared in the direction of the things of heaven or not. In the previous edition of this magazine, two doctrines of the Bible: water baptism and restitution were addressed. It is now the turn of another doctrine.
1. The Cross and sanctification (Luke 23:34, John 17:17, 2 Tim.2:21, 1 John 3:3): An increased commanding voice in volume no doubt will sustain certain attention from man. But nothing else commands the attention of the Almighty except the cry from a genuinely, pure heart.
How so true is equally the spiritual reality that purity of heart determines the acceptance of man’s offerings. Why is it that the praising voice of man is so sonerous yet the praise in question does not arise beyond the ceiling of the building where such praises is being offered?
The answer is certainly not in any distant land; it is a matter of the heart and its purity state. Understand that sanctification is the forerunner of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the subsequent enduement with power.
As it was noted in the previous edition of this magazine, sanctification is the second work of grace after salvation. Without sanctification, there can be no arrival of the Holy Spirit in His full measure. Neither can genuine power of God dominate the life of the believer whose life is void of the genuine experience of sanctification.

Where there is any demonstration of power without purity which comes about through the process of sanctification, there is always the looming danger of spiritual fatality. It is sanctification which solidifies salvation. It is sanctification which sustains the indwelling Holy Spirit and His power in the life of man.
Sanctification of the heart is otherwise known as ‘circumcision of the heart’ (see Deut.30:6). Sanctification makes it easy for man to serve God and to submit to His will. The prayer of every sanctified heart is a sweet-smelling fragrance accepted to God at the first scent.

Hear the prayer of a most sanctified soul in Matt.26-39 noting: ‘O my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt’.

Sanctification is obtained and attained by prayer of the heart which seeks a surgical operation in order to uproot inward sin. Whilst salvation deals with outward sin, it is sanctification which deals with the actual nature of sin which is deeply rooted inside man.
Understand that if salvation will be enjoyed by any Christian, sanctification must be obtained. It is the engine and lubricating oil which drives the vehicle of salvation with effortless ease. Just as it is the will of God that ‘all men should come to the saving knowledge of the truth and be saved’ (1 Tim.2:3-4), so also it is the perfect will of God for every soul of saved believers to be sanctified (1 Thess.4:3).

Intention determines action. So, common sense would not disapprove of the fact that all actions must be judged according to intention. Therefore, when the Almighty is ‘weighing’ human actions, He is indirectly judging the intentions of the heart (1 Sam.2:3d).
To walk with God and work perfectly for Him, the intentions of the heart must be that containing only one motive: the motive of pure love. When Christians come to the true appreciation of the cross, then sanctification becomes a passion-driver and success worth pursuing.
But the mystery of the cross of Christ remains a mystery until the understanding of Christ’s suffering and sacrifice is truly gained by man. It is only at this point that appreciating sanctification and the need for it begins.

Once this appreciation begins, pursuit for sanctification follows automatically.
But there is nevertheless a missing link. This is the link of love. Love for anything determines the thirst and hunger for such thing. Should the heart of man fail to be infested with love for the Cross, then the hidden mystery of the Cross and the unraveling of such mystery remains a mirage and attaining spiritual success is yet but such a success existing in a dream world.

When will such dream become a reality? Until love for the Cross and its power is obtained. Until Calvary’s pain is appreciated and the true meaning of the Cross is first innately realized and embraced.
O Cross of Christ at Calvary!
What great wonder You contain.
How many have understood your power;
There is a covenant unknown
To man that You bear.
O Worthless man!
Pursue nothing else but the worthwhile Cross.
For is it not in the Cross
That salvation and sanctification were paid
So then it is by You O Cross
That man in every way can obtain the fullness of God as perfect gain.
O Cross, Cross of Christ,
Enter into me today,
That I may never be the same ever again
O Cross, Cross of Christ;
My heart I give,
My hands raised in absolute surrender.
Reveal your power and marchless covenant in me
That Christ’s suffering and sacrifice may forever have me as its eternal gain.

CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES PART 3

THE MESSAGE NOW

Vol. 4, No. 34 – Monday, 2nd September, 2019
(Jude 1:3)
CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES
(Part 3)

To every organization there are agreed rules and regulations more properly known as binding code of conducts. Every code of conduct is designed in order to enforce order, mutual respect, discipline and decency (1 Cor.14:40).
In the same perfect semblance, doctrines and their strict followership trigger blessings, act as compass for giving direction and their disobedience incur divine judgement (Deut. 4:1, 6:2, 17).

Indeed, in sound spiritual fact, doctrines point us in the direction of heaven. Therefore, any church who is vested with the best message but which does not preach or enforce doctrines of the Bible is a spiritual “marcopolo bus” conveying myriads in the downward direction which leads to hell.
Put more aptly, Bible doctrines are non-negotiable. And it does not matter whether one big individual Man of God fails to practice them. The Bible is a divine institution and any big Man of God is merely an individual; and at no point will individuality defeat institutionalism.

So, whether we accept or not, doctrines remain God’s unchanging standard in a world so spuriously changing. Amidst these doctrines are the following:
1. Water Baptism (Mark 16:15-16, Matt. 28:19, Acts 19:1-7). Water baptism is a qualifying criterion for entry into heaven in as much continuity of life permits after salvation. Did you get that? Water baptism comes after the soul has been saved, not prior to the saving of the soul.
This is where the question of child baptism comes into the equation. Should children be baptized? The point of baptism is an emphasis for realization; realization in the sense of understanding the import and the importance of the interest behind baptism.
A child who is yet to understand what sin is all about, what the purpose of water baptism is, and what difference it will make in the life of the Christian should not be baptized.
Should such a child be baptized at this point, then when salvation is eventually gained by that child after realization, water baptism will need to be conducted afresh.

There is a further issue about water baptism. This is the issue of conducting water baptism in the form of water sprinkling. Clearly, this pattern is purely unbiblical. The guiding compass as contained in the Holy Scriptures speaks about emersion, deep inside water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is the sole approved form and pattern, not by sprinkling (Rom.6:4, Col. 2:12).
More than what is physically understood about water baptism, there is a serious spiritual angle to being ‘buried with Christ in baptism’. This act of immersion is a perfect and unbroken union between the saved soul and Christ. The experience of water baptism to a genuinely saved soul is so real that its spiritual and physical impacts are unmissable.

2. Restitution (Exo.22:1-31, Num.5:5-8, Matt. 5:23-24, Luke 19:8): The immediate question vastly and very much fast resonating here is the question about what restitution means. The answer is not far-fetched. Restitution is the act of making wrong(s) right.
The truth is that salvation paves the way for further growth in the Christian race. Salvation is never the stop point. For until salvation combines with restitution, some sins remain unwashable. The question here is the question about how and why.
After salvation has been gained by the saved soul, if there has been some physical sins committed which involved other persons, restitution will be required in order to perfect the gained salvation. Understand that salvation (and indeed sanctification which is the second work of grace) only takes care of sin in the heart. It is the carrying out of the doctrine of restitution which deals with outward sin. Again, the how question resonates.

If for instance, a man before gaining salvation had stolen my car, after salvation and having prayed and sought guidance from seasoned spiritual leaders, such a man will need to approach me and confess that theft to me. That man will equally need to return the car which he stole from me. But understand that collecting the returned car is the sole choice of me the owner of the car. But the initial confession is a necessary condition that cannot be overlooked.
Note that such a man should not delay to bring the theft issue to my knowledge even when he is yet to buy another car should the car be out of his hands. Confession of the act of theft even before return of the stolen property is most necessary. Because who knows rapture might occur before the return of the property stolen.
The act of restitution does not involve properties only. It is inclusive of situations where one person has told a lie against another, etc. So long as the Holy Spirit reminds one to restitute a matter, that matter is a matter calling for restitution. At other times, it may just be that one’s mind reminds one about such matter, then the needful must be done.
Restitution is a confirmation of the Holy Scripture in Matt.3:8. Thus restitution is an outward show of genuine repentance. Restitution associates us with the holy God (1 Pet.1:16, Matt.5:48). Please understand the doctrine of restitution more clearly with the given scenario below.

To every political party in the secular world, there is the necessity of open affiliation especially when an individual decamps from one party to another. In the same connection, when we are translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s own dear Son (Col.1:12-13), there must be not only a spiritual translation there must of necessity exist a physical one also.
Therefore, restitution is an open declaration of belonging to Christ. Understand this mystery about restitution. This mystery is to the effect that whilst salvation announces man to God being a moment of loud rejoicing in heaven (Lk.15:7, 10), on the other hand, it is restitution which announces God and godliness in man to all men in general.
Restitution is a special way of evangelising Christ and His divine nature. The act of restitution therefore gives us the opportunity to have a conscience void of offense towards God and toward man (Acts.24:16).

If therefore, salvation is the passport en route heaven, restitution is certainly the landing visa. And of course, the ultimate is sanctification which is the visa and the ticket to heaven combined.
Dearly beloved, do you know that failure to obey the doctrine of restitution may be the reason behind that delayed breakthrough? (John 15:7-10). What do you have to restitute my sister, my brother. Whom do you have to restitute to Sir and Madam?
Have you maligned or talked negative about men of God, Christian brethren or even persons of any nature, kind, colour and creed?

Have you cheated on your spouse? Have you stolen money or received bribes from and in your office? Have you snatched another’s man’s wife or another woman’s husband? Did you steal from your parents like Rachel in the Bible? (Gen.31:19). Have you shortchanged God in your tithes and offerings? Do you criticize people constructively or destructively?

There are some fellows who argue that restitution is not necessary. I hope such fellows don’t realize the truth at the gate of heaven when it would have been too late. If you argue that restitution is unnecessary, what you are invariably saying is that that part of the Bible is unnecessary.
Really! So, to you certain parts of the Bible have become obsolete? The reason for their argument sometimes is pitted on the foundation that restitution is a containment of the Old Testament.
But the divine statement that ‘I am the Lord that healeth thee’ is also contained in the Old Testament. Why do you uphold the healing Scripture and upturn doctrine contained in the same Old Testament? Besides, is Luke 19:8 and Matt. 5:23-24 not containments of the New Testament? What then is the basis of your argument? Or are you just seeking an avenue to justify yourself and avoid obeying divinely laid down rule?

Understand that all the doctrines of the Bible add nothing nor take away anything from God. They are all for our benefit. Therefore, pursue that which is beneficial.
Hear the divine counsel of God to you o brother, o sister in Deut.30:19 ‘I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live;’.
IN THE END, WHAT WILL YOU NOW DO? REMEMBER ACTS 5:29.

Question and Answer Section:
Question: Is your refusal to obey Bible doctrines a function of your hatred for your pastor or the author of this piece of Scriptural writing?
Answer: Hmmm!

Christ Jesus, You are the Anointed One of the Most High. I come to you today as I am. In your mercy, help me out of my situation. Heal my soul, my spirit, my body, my life and my destiny. I acknowledge you as the only true lover of my soul. Please, deliver me on every side and save me through and through. I promise from the depth of my soul to be yours from henceforth, in Jesus name. Help me now O God. Be my Lord, my Saviour and my all in all from this day. Thank you Lord (read Ps.54 in closing and pray more).

HYMN: Faith Of Our Fathers
PRAY NOW:
1. Read Job 34:32 and pray for yourself earnestly and genuinely.
2. O God, please give me the grace and the determination to live holy.
3. Let me O God never be a pleaser of men but a pleaser of God.
3. O God, let not Express Image Glory Ministries deviate from the path of truth.
