THE MYSTERY OF MERCY PART 1
(Psalm 123)
There is a most unusual trait about mercy whose outworkings and instrumentality remains a mystery which surpasses all human comprehension and interpretations.
Some tell us that mercy is the foundation for favour. This further means that mercy is the trigger of every kind of favour. Some others inform us that mercy is grace or that the flipside of grace is mercy.
All these information conduced together make good sense no doubt. However, if the flipside of grace is mercy or the determiner of mercy is grace, and all good success attained by man is a function of grace, what then is the fountain from which grace flows to man?
I’d rather conclude that mercy is an aspect of divinity; it is a divine entity whose presence with any man emits grace, favour, kindness, prosperity, success, etc, to such a man.
It will therefore mean that the failure to obtain any needed miracle can only be subject to three factors:
(1) sin,
(2) God’s unwillingness for reasons best known to Him which are often and will always turn out for the best benefit of man, and
(3) the inability of mercy’s ministration to man (Hebrews 4:15-16 compared with Hebrews 12:15-17).
The sound spiritual fact remains that he who finds mercy has found God and in God is the fullness of heavenly and earthly pleasures of all glorious kinds (Genesis 24:1, Job 36:11).
The same then can be argued in the reverse that the failure to obtain mercy is the resulting effect in the complexions of: stagnation, retrogression, illnesses, barrenness, blindness, delay, etc.
Dearly beloved, did you notice that among the three factors listed above, there is no mention of satan and dark forces as factors responsible for hindrances to miracles?
The reason is simply onefold. There is no place for satan or dark forces where mercy is active in its divine stage display. The only reason satan and dark forces have no place and indeed cannot compete at such venue is pretty much obvious.
They all cannot compete with mercy because there is no competition in the first instance. Tell me, will mercy speak and there is yet a contrary opinion? Ah!!! why don’t you remember the thief on His right-hand side on that agonising cross?
The voice of mercy is the final voice in every spiritual court-room. Understand dearly beloved that there is a universal court-room where constant transaction of cases determining whether or not any testimony should become a reality is ever taking place.
In that spiritual court-room, mercy is the final arbiter. Understand therefore that a call for mercy is the most perfect call man can ever make to God. The all-important question is: how is mercy obtained?
First by shunning the greatest sin. The greatest sin is committed when mercy personified comes to you and you turn Him down (John 3:16, Titus 2:11-12).
Next, having gained salvation through Christ Jesus (the only sure mercy of God), then maintaining a double-heart relationship with God, (not in the sense of double-mindedness but in terms of sonship and humility) is most essential.
Heart (a): realise that you are a son or daughter of the Most High with the conscious life of one who is free and one born with authority as a king under God (Rev.1:5-6).
Heart (b): maintaining a humble spirit as a lowly steward who is answerable to his/her Master and whose steps must be ordered by the Master (Psalm 37:23).
Third is by showing mercy and merciful concerns to others and for the things of God. Mercy reproduces mercy; therefore, to obtain mercy, sow mercy to another (thoughtfully consider Ecclesiastes 11:1-6).
As today’s text (that is, Psalm 123) has shown, men look unto the hand of God for mercy, but do men also realise that other men are looking onto their own hands too?
When was the last time you prayed for some one? In little or in much, have you met the need of any in the last one month?
MERCY IS A DIVINE ENTITY WHOSE PRESENCE EMITTED INTO ANY LIFE PROFFERS SOLUTION AND SUCCOUR.
MERCY IS EVER ROAMING THE STREETS OF LIFE SEEKING THE ONE WHO LOVES AND SHOWS MERCY.
WILL MERCY FIND YOU WORTHY AND READY? YOUR DESIRED MIRACLE IS MORE THAN NEAREST TO YOU IF YOU WILL SHOW MERCY TO OTHERS.

Christ Jesus, You are the Anointed One of the Most High. I come to you today as I am. In your mercy, help me out of my situation. Heal my soul, my spirit, my body, my life and my destiny.
