THE AMERICAN WOMAN’S DREAM ABOUT HER PASTOR’S WIFE
As Joseph and Daniel clearly indicated to Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar in Genesis 41:16 and Daniel 2:17-22 respectively, God alone owns the ingenuity and instrumentality of interpreting dreams.
The interpretation of spiritual mysteries, revelations, dreams and visions is a gift from God to man. In some instances, such gift comes to man by asking. At other times, it is solely by divine endowment by reason of grace. It is in this class of divine endowment by grace that I have found part of my bishoprick office for some years now.
So, like many other cases, this American woman’s call came through to me a few days ago. She had had a dream for which she was seriously troubled, and needed an interpreter. I had already gone through with the interpretation before she informed me that the woman being addressed by the dream was her current pastor’s dream. Read through her dream account below.
‘I saw this woman in my dream sitting in the midst of a number of other women. The other women were properly dressed and looking radiant. But for this woman, her clothes were shabby, scruffy and dirty. As I looked further, I discovered also that her head and hair were very dry, shaggy and unkempt too. Sir, what does this mean?’
As I opened up my spirit to the Spirit of the Lord, shortly after, the Lord gave me the interpretation and reason behind the problem and the further reason why He had allowed this American woman to see the dream.
To start with, understand that in interpreting a dream of this kind, one needs to know whether or not the addressee of the dream is a church-going Christian or an unbeliever. If a believer, then two key emblems are most necessary for there to be any perfect, divinely-inspired interpretation.
These two emblems are: (1) the body of the individual and its condition and (2) the current condition of the head of that individual as revealed in the dream. The sole reason for dissecting the body from the head is because although the two are separate entities, the two are nonetheless perfectly connected in a unified whole. How?Basically, a human being can be said to be composed of the head and the rest of the body. In this connection however, the spiritual perspective is equally in tandem with the physical composition. How?
The body is the woman being addressed by the dream whilst Christ is the head. From the details of this dream, the question is: if Christ is the head, is Christ then dry, shaggy and unkempt? The answer is unequivocally NO!!!. What then is the interpretation of this dream?
Evidently, the condition surrounding the woman’s body (which is her dirty, shabby and scruffy-looking clothes though not torn like rags) clearly signals terrible state of physical poverty informed by sinful lifestyle. Agreed, but why is her head and hair also looking unpleasant to the eyes? The situation of her head and hair is the reason behind her state of physical poverty.
Further, the reason her head and hair have now gone dry completely in that dream is because her spiritual situation is such that has lingered for too long a time. The deep spiritual fact remains that for there to exist any problem with the physical body of a man or a woman, the head is the first to know it.
As soon as the head knows it, the head never delays a second to send signal about the problem being suffered by the body so that the owner of the body can swiftly attend to the problem. The head continues to give that signal and will cease to do so if it becomes obvious that the owner of the body does not care. What does all these mean?
The head of that woman in the dream was dry, shaggy and unkempt because her spiritual life and relationship with Christ had really gone sour. The woman had become so spiritually poor that her spiritual poverty has not only triggered the physical poverty, the woman’s deviance to divine call to awake and repair her life’s spiritual altar had become so defiant and so common that grace no longer flows to her head to lubricate her spiritual body which in turn would have informed her spiritual and physical richness and prosperity.
The non-flow of grace therefore informed the dry, shaggy and unkempt state of her head. Since God and Godly presence emits to and into man through grace, the dryness of the head equally meant that the presence of the Lord had departed from that woman just as it departed from King Saul of the Old Testament.In short, that woman’s relationship with Christ was already in utter-tatters because of a life so consistent in sinning against her own soul and against God.
The reason this American woman was therefore given this dream was twofold. First, that she would stand in the gap to intercede on the behalf of the backslidden woman. Second, that she would not seek spiritual guidance or counselling from the backslidden woman until her restoration. Because any guidance coming from her was void of grace; it was going to be purely carnal.
What warning or call is the Lord sending to you? What is your turn of attitude to His divine call and/or warning? What is your attitude to God’s work? With a bitter heart? Do you put God first in all things? Is the concern for your spiritual life and the things of heaven of greater price and priority to you?
Do you think all negative things that happen to man are from the devil? No! sometimes, they are from us, not the devil. Do you interpret your dreams in such a way that your interpretation blinds you from the truth about yourself. Understanding that truth and accepting that truth is the fastest access route to your victory. Isn’t it?
Abstaining from food and water are not the sole conditions for fasting. Washing of oneself, anointing of one’s head, keeping a holy life, assisting the needy, helping the oppressed and being very prayerful makes such fasting a complete fasting in deed and indeed.
In sum, we are often informed that the spiritual dictates the physical. Very true but it is half the story. The physical too can inform us about the situation in the spiritual. What then is the present physical situation is a question which can point in the right direction about ongoing spiritual situation. Are there errors requiring corrections? Do you have clear understanding of your dreams. Your dreams are spiritual messages; they inform you about both your physical and spiritual situations and they do proffer solutions.
However, there is an aspect of interpreting dreams and visions which is often ignored. It is the aspect of understanding. There is no profit to any man who can dream all the dreams in the world but cannot interpret because of the lack of understanding. Lack of understanding of revelations is a big tragedy. But even then, there is yet a bigger tragedy.
THE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF ANY REVELATION IS OF THE SAME WEIGHT AND CONSEQUENCE AS MISUNDERSTANDING. THE TWO ARE COMPANIONS OF THE SAME PHYLUM. THE BIGGER TRAGEDY HOWEVER IS THAT THE FACT THAT ONE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND OR THAT ONE MISUNDERSTANDS A REVELATION WILL NOT STOP THE EVIL SPOKEN ABOUT BY THAT REVELATION FROM MANIFESTING. THIS IS THE SITUATION BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF UNDERSTANDING OR THE TRAGEDY OF MISUNDERSTANDING WHICH LEADS TO THE INABILITY TO PRAY ARIGHT ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE BY REASON OF UNDERSTANDING.

Christ Jesus, You are the Anointed One of the Most High. I come to you today as I am. In your mercy, help me out of my situation. Heal my soul, my spirit, my body, my life and my destiny. I acknowledge you as the only true lover of my soul. Please, deliver me on every side and save me through and through. I promise from the depth of my soul to be yours from henceforth, in Jesus name. Help me now O God. Be my Lord, my Saviour and my all in all from this day. Thank you Lord (read Psalm 54 in closing and pray more).
