THE SPIRIT OF PHARAOH THAT JOURNEYED WITH ME IN 2018 MUST BE LEFT BEHIND

Someone has rightly argued that ‘an enemy you don’t deal with on time will deal with you with time’. Oftentimes, in the journey of the modern Christian, spiritual strength and focus is directed at the physical enemy; the witch, the human oppressor and the likes.

Whilst there is no doubt in the sound spiritual fact that these physical enemies do exist, the further truth is that all these physical enemies are merely enemies without. The greater truth is that the enemy without succeeds only on the strength and success of the enemy within.

Understand dearly beloved that the children of Israel left the land of Egypt with the memory of their physical enemy, Pharaoh the king of Egypt being dead. To them, the death of Pharaoh marked the end of all problems.

But they failed to realise that although the physical pharaoh was dead, his representatives being the mixed multitude was nevertheless present within them. Indeed and in fact, the harm effected by the representative enemies within them in the course of their journey was by far more tumultuous and disastrous than what the physical Pharaoh: the enemy evidently seen caused to them. Isn’t it so? Remember dearly beloved that the journey of forty days became the journey of forty years as a result of the enemy within such as the rebellion, the murmurings, the ingratitude, the complaining, the idolatry and the sexual sins.

The greatest truth is that God requires the highest standard of holy living which is the sort of holiness that emanates from the heart from everyone. It is an incontrovertible truth that witches and the likes including arrows of the enemy dread the one who is pure from the heart.

It is equally a sound spiritual truth that the enemy such as demons and evil spirits (who facilitate the activities of witches and the likes) can see through the heart of everyone. As such, they know which heart is pure or impure (see Acts.19:11-20).

Should we desire the incoming year (2019) to be different in all positive ramifications from this outgoing old year (2018), then we must conquer the enemy within from now. Students repeat classes because they failed. Their failure is often as a result of being unable to master the core of their subjects. Should innate attitude such as listed above be allowed again, the outcome can be nothing else but a repeat of the old year in the new year.

On the contrary, students who excel are the pride, glory and joy of their teachers. In like manner, overcoming Christian in whose lives prayers are easily answered are the glory and delight of their pastors. Much more, such are the human celebrities who further magnify the already glorified God.

IN THE END, IF 2019 WILL BE THE YEAR OF SOLUTION AS THE LORD HAS INFORMED US, THEN THREE PARTS OF OUR BODIES MUST BE KEPT CLEAN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR 2019: OUR HANDS AND OUR HEART (PS.24:3-4) AND OUR TONGUE (PS.34:11-16).
