THERE IS A BIG FUTURE IN THAT SMALL TODAY
The negative complexions of today are only a reflection of tomorrow if you permit it. Remember the 36th edition of the second volume of this magazine which came up on 4th September last year.
In that edition, the Lord led us into the story of the then Arsenal FC player (now playing for Liverpool FC) by name: Alex Oxley Chamberlain. Recall that Alex Oxley Chamberlain was the player who forsook 180,000 Pounds weekly pay for a lower pay of 120,000 Pounds.
His argument then was that he preferred happiness to prosperity. Understand also that his decision could have had further negative implications because Liverpool FC was not regular in European championship.
But season-in-and-season-out, Arsenal FC whom he forsook was always there. In choosing to play for Liverpool FC (which had lower chances in the Premiership and in Europe at large), unknown to many Chamberlain was seeing the big future in the small Liverpool FC of the day.
Today (which is the future of last year) the story has now changed. Chamberlain is the one now laughing out so loud. For one, his club Liverpool FC is now the fourth in the Premiership. On the other hand, Arsenal FC whom he forsook is now struggling to occupy either the sixth or the seventh position in the Premiership.
Besides, Liverpool FC is now in the finals of the European Cup which could earn the club millions of Euros far beyond 90 million pounds. Amazing! Isn’t it? Attitude and self-belief matters in every pursuit of life.
Seeing the sense in the nonsense is the attribute of goal-getters. The hope and the expectation that the bleakness of today will not deter the brightness of tomorrow is enviable and worth investing one’s thoughts and actions into.
Are you a seller of small things: small things as popcorn, soap, sales items, grosseries and the likes. Hope in God because the small shop and the carrier bags of business will become tomorrow’s bigger industry of many more things.
Asking God to breathe on the little in one’s hands is a spiritual attitude that attracts the attention of the Almighty. Such is the opposite direction of doubting in the ‘day of small things’.
Dear fellow Pastor, look not on that small congregation: it will become a crowd of saints tomorrow. Therefore, keep labouring and keep praying. How many students attend your private school today? It shall be a different story tomorrow. Only keep believing.
IN THE END, FAITH AND POSITIVE ATTITUDES ARE GREAT SPIRITUAL INVESTMENTS. THEIR YIELD CAN NEVER BE LOST OR LIQUIDATED.
