WHAT DOES YOUR NAME MEAN TO YOU AND TO GOD?(Part 1)
In fact, in law and in logic, a name is a perfect means of identification. Spiritually speaking, names have spiritual weight, import and impact. Their impact is of such great weight that they determine the direction of one’s life and destiny.
Indeed, what one’s true name means is what one is and stands for in the spirit realm. The problem is: most men bear names without ever making both academic and spiritual research about the meaning of their name.
Neither do they ever bother to make spiritual research before God through prayer whether or not the name they bear is their actual name recognisable by heaven. Are you bearing a name belonging to another and such is unknown to you?
The tragedy involved is that since that name is not your original name from the Most High, bearing that name of another means that you will continually spend your life in the destiny of that individual and not in your own destiny.
The more concerning tragedy is that the fact that it is unknown to you that you bear another person’s name and, in consequence, their destiny, does not free you of the dastard danger. In fact, the lack of knowledge rather compounds the situation the more.
Hmmm! what a tragedy indeed! It further means that you are not the person you think you are. It is a most relevant question to inquire from God for instance, if my name means beloved since David is my name: why am I hated all around instead?
Is Cecilia my rightful name from God? Since Cecilia means blind, am I not spiritually blind at the very least? I have a wonderful African, Asian, European, Australian or American name. But why is my life expressing the exact opposite of my name?
Really and truly, by what name does the Almighty know me? What battles are attached to the name I bear? Do I need a change of name or I simply need to invite grace on and into the name I bear? What event led to the name I bear?
Why was I given my name in the first place? Should I yet hold on to my surname or marital name? God, is the struggle and delay I am experiencing a function of my surname, marital name or the name I bear?
Beloved, I challenge you to challenge me that if you bear any of the following names, then you need to earnestly pray. If by reason of a good course from your parents, by accident or coincidence, you bear the name: Mary, Job, Omolara, Iyabo, Basirat, Maduka, Rachel, Gbenga, Bukola, Pascal, Dele, Segun, Cecilia, Nkechi, Olayinka, Yetunde, Yewande, Sylvester, Jacob, Rotimi, Cyprian, Bassey, Amina, Naomi, Denise, Ikuwora shortened to Kwara (a state in the North-central axis of the Federal Republic of Nigeria), Nike, Maleeq, then having gained genuine salvation through Christ Jesus, your first point of battle-cry should have been on your name.
Do not misunderstand me: most of these names have very good meanings and great glory. The unpleasant news however is that except the bearers of these names soak themselves in intense unceasing prayers, as great as their glory is, so also is the greatness of their life’s battles.
Unfortunately still, five out of the names herein mentioned are names whose bearers will always be prone to sexual sins, lusts and immorality generally if they do not arise and contend that mountain (Mic.6:1).
The question I ask is: where do you stand in all of these? In doubt or in firm belief?
If in doubt, the message is delivered to you already. The choice is now yours. If in firm belief, then can you ask the God of heaven to act on that name today or change that name of yours altogether?
I watched as the Shekinah Glory Choir of Express Image Glory Ministries ministered one afternoon. As I stood watching, the Lord pointed to one beautiful sister with an obviously beautiful name and said: ‘her name is actually Margaret’.
What I know about this sister that no human being knows except herself and God will blow the mind of everyone in the positive sense. But if only this name has been under use these number of years, what an excellent honour she would have enjoyed in life so far.
Beloved, are you deluding yourself in the euphoria of endless theories and useless philosophies and needless arguments and fables still? Oh! How I wish you will face reality squarely. Oh! I wish you know that spiritually speaking, the issue of names and their meanings, intention before giving and actual representation before God is no joke whatsoever.
The Holy Bible is replete with verses containing either outright name-change or names being revamped by God in order that the bearer may be tuned into the right direction on course for his/her destiny fulfilment.
Do I hear you say why is this message necessary? It is necessary because any pastor or prophet, evangelist or teacher of the Word who is tired of his flocks’ sufferings and who is tired of his flock ever praying and praying with little or no result will constantly visit the theatre room of the Almighty.
Therein in that theatre, spiritual issues of life are dissected before him so that he can convey such divine message divinely dissected to the flock under him as appointed by God. Listen, this subject was given by the Most High. Twice in one night, the ever good and gracious God spoke to me about this subject.
IN THE END, WHETHER YOU ENJOY GREAT GLORY OR FACE GREAT BATTLES AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE NAME(S) THAT YOU BEAR, THERE IS BUT ONE ALL-IMPORTANT QUESTION EVERYONE MUST ANSWER NOW NOT NEXT.
THAT MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IS: IS MY NAME WRITTEN THERE IN THE LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE?
BELOVED, BE SURE THAT YOUR NAME IS THERE (TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEK).

If Christ Jesus the Son of the Most High God died on the Cross of Calvary and indeed Christ Jesus the Son of the Most High God rose from the dead on the third day, then every attacker of this Ministry: Express Image Glory Ministries and its name and glory, shall regret utterly in the end, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen and Amen.
