The Message Now

Welcome to this edition of The Message Now. Beloved, please pray the following prophetic prayers:
WHAT WOULD YOU BE REMEMBERED FOR: A BUILDER OR A DESTROYER?
Those two moments are till this day most memorable moments in human history for all shades of reasons: positive and negative. First was the birth of the nuclear chemical formulation known as E=MC Squared.
It was memorable at inception for its immense positive side to human development in terms of electricity generation. Understandably, nuclear energy originated from the splitting of uranium atoms-a process called fission. This generates heat to produce steam, which is used by a turbine generator to generate electricity.
Second was towards the closing moments of 1939. In October 1939, just after the outbreak of world war II in Europe, the President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt received a letter from physicist Albert Einstein and his Hungarian colleague Leo Szilard. Their letter called to his attention the prospect that a bomb of unprecedented power could be made by tapping the forces of nuclear fission. Finally, on July 16 1945, the first atomic bomb was tested in the midst of Alamogordo Desert in New Mexico. Its power astonished even the men and women who had constructed it.
From that moment of bomb-making experience, international relations and indeed, the committee of nations on the international plain have had to grapple with threats or even sometimes outright battle.
Undoubtedly, nuclear physics is a most laudable invention with innumerable benefits. But so much as the inventor will be remembered for this great achievement, the grave side of Albert Einstein’s dark invention and its today’s dastard effects will linger for so long in human memories.
The Apostle Paul in today’s texts was certain about his destination having departed from this very world. He equally was certain of the kind of legacy that he was leaving behind. This valedictory message to his spiritual son, Timothy, was by miles different from that of king Solomon.
On the contrary, king Solomon’s words were unsure and unreassuring. King Solomon lamented about his child on account of the fear of the sort of legacy impacted into that child. King Solomon noted in Ecclesiastes chapter 4:15 and chapter 2:18-19. These scriptures variously inform (Eccl.4:15): I considered all the living which work under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead’.
In Ecclesiastes chapter 2:18-19, the message is more direct. King Solomon lamented by noting: ‘yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me. And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? Yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have labored, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity’.
When any legacy is unsure and unreassuring, it is because they will birth no good. It is because they emanated from no admirable mentorship. Enviability or admiration cannot be the hallmark of such legacy. Such legacy is at best akin to a grain of salt without its saltiness.
For it is often recounted: ‘life is like a looking glass; and it gives back to every man the reflection of his face’. No outward man can ever be better than his innate personalty. Though you manage it for so long, it shall be evident soon by the definition of time.
Half good and half bad is equivalent to complete bad. The argument of very many minds to an article of this kind is likely that which leans in the direction of sympathy for Albert Einstein.
Agreed, electricity and the likes-the by-products of nuclear physics have moved our world far forward but could not bomb-making have been avoided? The United Nations (UN) and the world at large are trembling today because of Iran, North Korea, etc.
It is because of no other reason but the possession of nuclear energy. Good intentions grow to gain great awareness for so many. When bad intentions hatch, they expand to become weapons of mass corruption and destruction of that which is good.
The bad but subtle intention for founding Big Brother Naija—a popular but highly satanic Tv programme on Nigerian satellite stations is a veritable example in this connection. No one saw any big deal about it at the start, and now this satanic programme’s promotion of sexual immorality, satanic dressing and infusion of satanic knowledge has become so pronounced that the youth, children and senseless Christian adults see no wrong in it but even watch it.
This shouldn’t astonish any one because it is happening in the nation of Nigeria—a nation ‘where anything goes’. Is this not the nation where pastors deceive themselves and their gullible church members? Insult me if you like for voicing the truth, I do not care. It is happening in Nigeria—the nation well-known for preaching about God, and yet it is the nation where the principles about the God being preached are hardly followed.
Examine every part of your physical body and heart; ask yourself which of them is an example of bad intention? Know this as a mark of certainty that if one’s mouth for instance is a weapon of mass destruction through gossiping and backbiting, it cannot at the same time be a weapon of mass deliverance for yourself or other people.
Perhaps this is the reason your prayers are not being answered. Remember that if all that you exist for in this passing world is for the now and not for the next also, then you will only be remembered by the soil which eventually turns you into manure after your death and decay.
There is no denying the obvious;Albert Einstein has left behind memories of great respect for himself and his ingenuity. But what memory to you does his thought about bomb-making reminiscence?
