(John 10:27-28)
WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?
A fierce battle had taken place between the armies of two nations. Expectedly, the fierceness of the battle recorded a number of casualties. In order to ascertain the possibility of revival of some sort for any of the casualties, a medical doctor was called onto the bloody battlefield. Whilst the doctor made his way through the many casualties especially the seriously wounded and the dead, he could hear a young soldier saying from a nearby distance: “I am here”, “I am here”.
The Doctor moved quickly towards his direction and inquired: “yes, how can I help you? I am a medical doctor”. To the doctor’s amazing shock, the response of the young soldier was just too baffling for his comprehension. The young soldier replied the doctor. “I was not calling for you sir. I heard a roll-call being made in heaven, and my name was mentioned. I am responding to the heavenly roll-call, not for your attention”.
Shortly afterwards, the young soldier breathed his last breath and passed on to eternity. Hmmm! So touching and very thoughtful! The young soldier knew the voice of his Master, Christ Jesus. What a true reflection of the reality of John 10:27-28. That was the account of the young soldier. The question is:do you know Him? If you know Him, then who is He to you?
WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?
The expression ‘applied knowledge is power’ is akin to anyone’s exposure in each day of anyone’s life, what one knows and applied to life is an evidence that everything will be like a duck to water on the pathway to fulfil destiny. How?The name Jesus is widely known, that is true, not to be contested, infact a day will not pass without mentioning the Name just as you’re reading now. One can ask who exactly is Jesus to you? This can further be expressed by your relationship to and with Him.
It is possible that one can boldly say that one is born-again. Good! you’re correct. Unarguable statement, but relationship with Jesus goes beyond being born-again. For instance, in order to establish that required relationship with the Lord Jesus, one must consistently establish unwavering relationship with Jesus everyday until He envelopes one completely and one thinks of and about Him in all of one’s endeavours. Ponder over this again ‘I know Him, does He know you?
The Lord Jesus is beckoning at you in the following ways:
“That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans…..10:9-10
-He takes your sins away…..John 1:29.
-As the only Son of God you confess sins to and forgives you… 1 John 1:5.
-You must forgive those that have wronged you and He will also pardon you…Mark 11:25.
-He is our redeemer through His blood Colossians 1:14
-See Him as the Word in You, hence you will not sin against him ….Psalm119:11
-As the One that can cleanse from all iniquity through His Word…John 15:3.
-He is the one who can make you Holy…1 Peter 1:16.
-Believe that God loves you …. 1 John 1:16, John 3:16.
He is the Only God to be served without any other god, trust and depend on Him. Everything is possible as long as you see Him filling all endeavours of your life. Beloved, the grace of God that brought salvation is teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust, that we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. Looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify us unto himself a peculiar people zealous for good works… Titus 2:11-14. What is paramount is to know that our anchor in life is Christ, whatever a man will become either now or world after(eternal life) is in Him.
Note that your relationship with Him will someday birth your long awaited dream, hear what Peter confessed when all the disciples were asked who is Christ, he confidently replied “And Simon Peter answered and said Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”.
Pay most vital attention to Jesus’s feedback ” And Jesus answered and said to him, blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My father which is in heaven” Mattew 16:16 – 17.
Thereafter, our Lord Jesus Christ graciously watered him with eternal blessings.What account for this is unbroken and sincere relationship with Christ, understand that Christ is greater in you, than he (Satan the father of liars, do not allow him to take heaven away from you through deceit) that is the world…1 John 4:4b. If you diligently seek Him with all your heart, mind and soul, then your intimacy with Christ is guaranteed.
Come to Christ today by confessing to him and say Lord God, here I’m, forgive me my sins, wash me clean by the blood of Jesus. I promise to be yours from this day, I believe in the death of Jesus and His resurrection, save me and let me forever be yours in Jesus Name.
IN THE END, IT IS A MAN’S RELATIONSHIP WITH AND KNOWLEDGE OF HIS MAKER THAT WILL DECIDE HIS SWIFT ASCENDANCY TO GREATNESS AND EVENTUAL DESTINY.
